Blubber, I made some headway on our load time problems. I need to get some information from you about your system though to verify. I corrected a couple problems on my machine too. I timed my load time last night. It was 45 seconds to load a map. I have a 720GB SATA drive, a 3GHZ processor, 4GB Ram and a Radeon 4850 512MB Card.

Do you know if your hard drive is Serial ATA (sAta)?

If you go to Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Computer Management, Device Manager - do you have any yellow question marks (especilaly on something called SM Bus).

Catch me on TS.

Why would SATA be the issue? Am I missing something?

Well if you don't have the chipset drivers loaded or current on your MB, it could cause your SATA interface to run at a fraction of its normal speed. Lots of threads about this on the internet. But from what research I've done on my drive it is not the SATA drivers.

I've used both old drivers and new drivers with no change.

I've also rolled back my video drivers 4 versions with no change.

I'm pretty stumped at this point.

It's possible that you might need to update your motherboard drivers or BIOS, too.

Another thing Blubber could always try the old standard defrag.

If you're really in the mood, backup your config and save files and:

1. Uninstall COD
2. Defrag
3. Reinstall COD
4. Defrag again

Run the utility to see how fragmented your drive is before you invest all that time, though.

Also, if you lower your texture settings, there will be smaller texture files to load each map.

Blubber! I might have solved our load time problems. Get with me tonight on TS man. I'm betting you have a wireless router.

Mexico was crazy boys. Glad to be home. When you think you've had a bad day or something went wrong, just remember you could have been born in a village in mexico and work as a fisherman on a remote lake. No car. No money. Live in a house made of dried mud and think $20 was a fortune.

Humbling and awesome at the same time. Lots of stories that I'll remember for a long time.
